Why "eye-street" blog?

This is a blog about international trade, finance, exporting, and related topics, news stories ECT

Why?

1. Because international trade has been one of the most ballyhooed, maligned and misunderstood topics of our day.

2.Because it's important. Everyone should care about it, but they should also seek to understand it, criticize it, and know its limitations.

3.Because, well (secretly) it’s not as mystical as it is made out to be; yet it is also incredibly complex because events, history, philosophy, money, human behavior and math all play an important role in how the system operates. (But that's the fun part-I promises)

4. Did I mention that you need to know it-because you do. Trade, economics, organizational operation, politics-all shape the how, when and why actions of everyday life.


Why call the blog "eye-street"?

-Well in Washington D.C. both the World Bank and the IMF are located on "I street". At the corner of the Metro (subway) stop on I street is a liquor store with a sign that reads, "eye street"
